The University of Notre Dame du Lac (Notre Dame) is a private, non-profit Catholic research university established on November 26, 1842. It is located in Notre Dame, Indiana, near the city of South Bend, in the United States. She is a census-designated place in St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. College of Science
The College of Science first began at the university in 1865. The college includes over 1,200 undergraduates in several departments of study including Biology, Neuroscience & Behavior, Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Mendoza College of Business started in 1921, and now offers degrees in accountancy, finance, management, and marketing, with over 1,600 students. In its 2017 rankings, U.S. News and World Report ranked the Graduate school 29th.
The Keough School of Global Affairs
It first began in 2014, now the school offers six doctoral programs related to international peace studies. And, a Masters in Global Affairs focused either on peace studies or sustainable development, and five undergraduate majors. All of Notre Dame’s undergraduate students are in the First Year of Studies program. This program was established to guide freshmen before they declare a major. The program aims to encourage intellectual and academic innovation among first-year students. So, each student is given an academic advisor from the program who helps them to choose classes that give them exposure to any major in which they are interested. The program also includes a Learning Resource Center (which provides time management, collaborative learning, and subject tutoring). Also, FY advising, the Dean’s A list, the Renaissance circle, NDignite, the First-year Urban challenge, and more. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish is a collective name for the athletic teams that represent the University of Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish participate in 23 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I intercollegiate sports and in the NCAA’s Division I in all sports, with many teams competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Attire
The Notre Dame’s helmets are solid gold with gray facemasks, the gold being emblematic of the University’s famed “Golden Dome”.
