Kosciusko County Community Foundation Scholarship has nearly 100 scholarship funds available. It is from these funds that this foundation awarded more than $457,000 in scholarships. The 1988 Indiana General Assembly created this scholarship to have the critical shortage of black and Hispanic teachers in Indiana addressed. The Indiana General Assembly, in 1990, amended the Minority program to include the field of Special Education, and in 1991, there was an incorporation of the fields of occupational and physical therapy. The student is mandated to agree in writing that he/she would apply for a teaching position in Indiana and, if hired, teach at least three years in Indiana.
